As you know, part of any great holiday, is finding great places to eat that have good service and amazing food.

Places to eat out during a stay at Tolpuddle Cottage

You won’t need to venture too far from Tolpuddle Cottage, to find a good number of accommodating places to cater for a variety of tastes, appetites and budgets.

Here are some of them.

The Martyrs Inn – Tolpuddle

Located just a few minutes’ walk from the cottage is The Martyrs Inn.

You will receive a friendly welcome and a wide choice of beers, wines and spirits.

The menu here is varied and tasty, with Curry Night Monday, Fish & Chip Friday and Sunday Carvery, as well as a regular menu available at other times.

Dogs are also welcome.          

The Pig On The Beach – Studland 

If you want somewhere special to eat out with great views, The Pig On The Beach is just the place.

With its extensive and fresh menu, where much of its vegetables are grown in the kitchen garden or locally sourced, it is a fantastic place for eating out, while you enjoy the views across the sea and Old Harry Rocks.

The Crab House Café Portland

This is a great place to eat for lovers of fresh seafood.

Located on Portland overlooking Chesil Beach, this licenced café is extremely popular with a great menu.

If you would like to eat here during your stay at Tolpuddle Cottage, you will need to book as soon as you can.

The Blue Vinny – Puddletown

The Blue Vinny is a short drive from Tolpuddle Cottage in the nearby village of Puddletown.

Once again there is a warm welcome and there is a good choice of food, which is sourced locally where possible. To compliment the food, there is also a good selection of beers, wine and spirits.

The Smugglers Inn – Osmington Mills

This pub may seem hidden, but is very popular and with good reason.

It is in a wonderful location, with views across to Portland and Weymouth and a stream running through its garden, which is great for enjoying a drink or meal in the summer.

Inside the pub is full of rustic charm, having open fires that are great in the winter months.

On top of this, there is a good menu with a wide range of choices.

All in all, a great place to eat out and enjoy the views.

Dogs also welcome.

The Old Granary – Wareham

Sitting alongside the River Frome, The Old Granary is a great place to eat out, or just enjoy a drink after a walk along the Tow Path of the river, or spending some time in Wareham.

It offers warm welcome and an extensive menu to suit all tastes.

Athelhampton House  – Puddletown 

Situated in the nearby village of Puddletown, Athelhampton House is a place to enjoy.

Not only does it have wonderful gardens to look around and various events throughout the year, but also serves great food in The Coach House Restaurant, where they serve a popular lunch menu with great desert choices, but also cakes and pastries for morning or afternoon tea and a Sunday Carvery.
